Detailed description of Summit Chase Country Club | Summit Chase Golf Course

Summit Chase Country Club is a Private 18 holes golf course  located in Snellville, Georgia.

Summit Chase Country Club first opened for play in 1973.

The course was designed by Ward Northrup. The course first opened for play in 1973. Using his expertise as an architect, Mr. Northrup was able to craft a course that offers a nice combination of challenges and scoring opportunities for any skill level.

Playing to 3,424 yards, the front nine is a good place to warm up for your golf game. With an open, park-like feel, these first nine holes will give you a fun, challenging opportunity to bag some birdies before facing the back nine.

The back nine at Summit Chase definitely requires that you bring your “A” game. Trees border narrow fairways and large expanses of exposed granite are seen on several holes. The tenth and eighteenth holes also play over water.

The differences between the front and back nines often give the illusion of playing two separate courses. And with a slope of 134 and a course rating of 72, it is often said that if you aren’t playing well on the front nine, you may want to reconsider making the turn to the back.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,816 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,106 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 9, a par-5 that plays to 578 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 16, a par-3 that plays to 114 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 1, a 413-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 16, the 114 yard par-3.
